A Week of Christmas Community Gift Giving.

Christmas came early for the residents of Barangay Sta Cruz, San Miguel and Barangay Turog-turog in Oton as the Metro Iloilo Water District shares its blessings via its annual Chrismas Gift Giving Program last December 18, 2023. In this initiative, 50 families from each barangay were chosen as beneficiaries of the MIWD Outreach Program. Essential items such as rice, groceries for daily needs, and hygiene kits were generously distributed to support underprivileged individuals.

The MIWD, led by Finance Department Manager and Admin Dept OIC Amarylis Josephine Castro, alongside Barangay Officials and LGU Representatives, conducted a brief formal program before the commencement of the gift-giving. Following this, the recipients enjoyed engaging in short games and activities and were later treated to snacks and Christmas giveaways.

Continuing on the Christmas spirit streak the very same week, the Metro Iloilo Water District yet again took part in another gift-giving activity, this time in tandem with John B. Lacson Maritime Foundation Maritime University and their Community Extension Office on Decemberr 22, 2023. The MIWD Office donated 100 grocery packs to benefit underprivileged families coming from Brgy, Sooc, Arevalo, Brgy, Trapiche, Oton and Brgy. Agbay, Leon,

MIWD Public Relations Chief Atty Ellyn Fernandez, Property Officer Norman Sanares and officials from the JBLMFU CES Office personally distributed the substantial grocery gift packs to the beneficiary families, and in the process, hope to bring added brithness and cheer to the beneficiary families this Christmas season.
