The Metro Iloilo Water District congratulates the City Government headed by our most dynamic and hardworking Mayor, Hon. Jerry P. Trenas, on garnering the number one spot for the Overall Most Competitive Highly Urbanized City (HUC) for 2024 in Western Visayas, as recognized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 6. Proof positive that with teamwork between all sectors paired with the uncanny vision of our beloved Mayor, our City can scale to new heights previously unachieved.

The metrics involved in the prestigious title involves key markers such as Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Resiliency, Infrastructure and Innovation, which the Iloilo City Government passed with flying colors, and is a milestone achievement thanks to the tireless sacrifice and steadfast leadership of Mayor Treñas, and under his governance, Iloilo City rises up once again as the center of trade, commerce and modernization for Western Visayas, and a shining beacon of progressive governance for the Philippines.

The Metro Iloilo Water District—and its previous incarnations—has had a long history with the City of Iloilo, and remains a loyal and steadfast partner in growth for the City, for as the City soars high, so does our Ilonggo heritage blaze ever bright as the Queen City of the South.
