MIWD Donates Goods for City and Province for COVID Outbreak
April 15, 2020 — While the recent NCOV virus has put a standstill to the world’s economy, the global pandemic itself has put a strain on the world’s resources as governments all over the world seek to provide relief for the work-displaced people in their community.
MIWD rose up to the challenge of chipping in to help out the citizenry of Iloilo by donating much needed relief goods for the Province and the City of Iloilo.
MIWD provided 200,000 pesos worth of surgical masks for use of the health frontliners and donated it through the Provincial Government of Iloilo. There are about 143 boxes donated, with 50 surgical masks in each box, and came in a timely fashion as there were already short supply of aerosol masks for the frontline heroes all over the province of Iloilo. On hand to accept the donations on behalf of the Governor were Provincial Legal Officer Dennis Ventilacion and Provincial Administrator Suzette Mamon.
For the LGUs and the City of Iloilo, MIWD also donated another 200,000 pesos worth of necessities for use and distribution for the most affected by the pandemic. Boxes upon boxes were delivered at the central drop-off point of the Uswag Relief Operations in the Jaro Plaza Gym. The relief goods made up an assortment of necessities such as canned foods, instant noodle, powdered milk and coffee and toiletries.
