Miwd Gives Back On Its 46TH Anniv With Medical Mission
The Metro Iloilo Water District recently had their 46th Anniversary last September 18, 2024 and celebrated it with a Medical and Dental Mission. at the MIWD Building.
The Medical and Dental Mission included free medical consultation with MIWD’s Physician—Dr. Enrique Hipolito III—as well as a dental consultation and cleaning. Free flu shot vaccines were also given out to recipients. The receipients for the Medical and Dental mission were residents of Brgy. President Roxas, Iloilo City, headed by Brgy, Captain Irene Ong.
The Medical and Dental Mission, which was held at the MIWD Roofdeck Activity Area, was made in direct partnership with other agencies, namely the Iloilo City Health Office, headed by Dr. Annabel Tang. MIWD’s JV companies, the Metro Pacific Iloilo Water, Inc. and the Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply, Corporation were also on hand to donate vaccines and food packs, respectively, as well as and Vonmed Pharma Distributor Iloilo Branch managed by Ms Angelica Ocbeña-Castro.
During the earlier part of the celebration, the MIWD also gave tribute to its outgoing Legal Counsel, the Hon. Roy Villa. Also being given tribute during the Anniversary Event were MIWD Service Awardees—employees who have reached service milestone years of service to the public in MIWD, namely Mr. Norman Nicolas Sanares (15 years), Atty Erwin Somes (20), Mr. Felix Abellar (20 years), Engr. Arnel Balbares (25 years) and Ms. Amarylis josephine Castro (35 years).
Also being honored during the event were awardees from the Water Safety Plan Committee and the Water Distribution and NRW Section of MIWD for the recent commendations received from various agencies, most notably the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW), the Commission on Audit (COA), the Department of Health (DOH)
Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA).
