MIWD Joins CSC, Gov Offices for Tree Planting at Calajunan
Septermber 25, 2020 — The Civil Service Commission RO VI celebrated its 120th Anniversary with a tree planting activity with the theme Malasakit sa Kalikasan-A Tree Planting Activity.
In attendance were representatives from a large number of LGUs, SUCs, unions, civic groups and other government agencies. Due to the social distancing protocols in these current Pandemic Times, safety protocols such as strict enforcement of masks and social distancing were adhered to and only up to a maximum of three representatives per agency are allowed to attend the activity.
The activity, held at Brgy. Calajunan, Mandurriao, was entitled “Pag-Ulikid sa Dunang Manggad”. The tree planting site itself is in a hill overlooking the Calajunan Garbage Landfill. Bamboo saplings were chosen as the vegetation to plant and grow in the plant site. This also coincided serendipitously with the month of September’s Philippine Bamboo Month.
