MIWD Receives Annual Lease from MPIW

July 30, 2021 – Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) receives the annual payment from Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) for their Annual Service Fees (Lease Contract). The cheque is made out for Sixty Seven Million and Three Hundred Thousand Pesos, and is payment for 2020’s Annual Service Fees (Lease Contract). Metro Pacific Iloilo Water is the result of the Joint Venture between MIWD and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, a subsidiary of the Pangilinan Group of Companies. MPIW is on a 25-year lease with MIWD and assumes responsibility for water distribution, rehabilitation, expansion and infrastructure growth for the water services for the city and provinces of Iloilo.

On hand to receive the annual payment on behalf of MIWD is OIC – General Manager Amarylis J. Castro, with the cheque disbursed by MPIW COO Engr. Ben Mañosca. Also present were representatives for MIWD, namely Division Managers Janalle L Legayada-Manejero (Admin and Finance) and Engr. Ernesto Suplido (Water Distribution and NRW Management) and OIC for Water Distribution & NRW Mgt Sections Engr. Arnel Babares. Also representing MPIW with the COO was John Paul Vergabera, Department Manager for Admin and Finance.
