MIWD/MIB/MIW Donates NCOV goods for Iloilo

ILOILO City – The MIWD in coordination with its two joint venture companies with Metro Pacific Water Group in Iloilo–namely the Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corporation and Metro Iloilo–donated over a million pesos worth of COVID-19 test kits, and various food and medical supplies as part of its COVID-19 assistance to Iloilo City and the seven municipalities in the Province of Iloilo.

Metro Pacific Iloilo Water Inc. (MIW) – the water distribution company for Metro Iloilo, and Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corp. (MIB) – the bulk water supplier, in coordination with its joint venture partner, the Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) donated at least P1.2 million pesos as of Mar. 25 to increase the number of COVID-19 test kits in Iloilo City and provide front-liners and health workers with medical supplies.

Food and various supplies amounting to 100,000 pesos were distributed to the local government units of Pavia, Sta. Barbara, Cabatuan, Maasin, Leganes, San Miguel, and Oton as they have been affected by the enhanced community quarantine measures declared in the Province last week. The assistance will enable them to provide more relief goods and necessities to their respective communities.

The COVID-19 test kits will be distributed by the Iloilo government through the Office of the Mayor Jerry Treñas. According to Mayor Jerry Treñas, these donations will go a long way in the city’s efforts of containing the novel coronavirus and to safeguard the lives of the Ilonggos, most especially their front-liners who are at risk of contacting the virus.
