Bike and Pick Cleanup Drive
Picking up litter has never been done at so fast a speed, but this year, the MIWD—along with the Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGNRO)—and other partner agencies revved up their bike wheels for the for the Bike and Pick cleanup drive.
Other participating agencies also took to the streets on their bicycles alonside the MIWD, including JV parters Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW) and Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Corporation (MIB). The Provincial LGU of Pavia were also present as riding partners, alongside the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
The starting point for the riding route starts at the Pavia Plaze, with the bikers converging at the C1-C2 interchange, where the MIB and MPIW had set up hydration booths for the thirsty bikers. The riders then set out to clean the nearby litter-prone areas, with garbage bags and gloves supplied by the Pavia LGU.
