CSC 124th Anniv Tree Growing @ Sunset Blvd.

The Metro Iloilo Water District once again joins the Civil Service Commission in their a tree-growing activity last September 20, 2024.
Joining in on the CSC’s nationwide tree planting initiative which began at the crack of dawn at the as-yet partially finished Iloilo Sunset Boulevard were other government agencies from all over Iloilo.
This included various LGUs from provinces near and far, SUC’s, government medical servants, government banking institutions, law enforcement and of course, government environmental agencies.
The initiative’s intent is to plant at least 10,000 trees while raising funds for the CSC’s Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLBi) Program, which supports the families of fallen civil servants.
CSC Chairperson Karlo Nograles stated in an earlier press interview said that, “This nationwide tree-growing activity not only focuses on environmental conservation but also serves as a tribute to those who gave their lives in service, fostering a sense of patriotism.”
CSC Regional Office VI (Western Visayas), in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), led the activity, which aimed to contribute to climate change mitigation through tree-growing and to promote environmental stewardship, while also raising funds for the benefit of the families of fallen civil servants.
Earlier that month, the MIWD—along with fellow government agencies—also partook in the CSC’s Fun Run Activity at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand. The Fun Run was the kick off activity by the CSC in its month-long celebration of its 124th Anniversary, with the theme, “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes”
