MIWD and MIB Anniversaries: Waves of Gratitude

July 8, 2025—The Metro Iloilo Water District attended a solemn anniversary dinner of their JV Partner for Distribution, the Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW). It was last June 1, 2019, when the MPIW was borne out of the Joint Venture Agreement between the Metro Pacific Water Investments Corporation and the MIWD—marking that celebrated evening their 6th Year Anniversary. However, the evening’s focus was less on the MPIW itself and more on the people that helped them achieve their goal although the years, hence, the occasion was entitled, “ Waves of Gratitude: MPIW Partners Appreciation Dinner held at the Marriot Hotel’s poolside venue. As the MPIW had already celebrated an in-company festivity with all their employees just a week prior, that evening of the 9th was a tangible thanksgiving to their supporters.

As Mr. David Berba, COO of the MPIW gave the welcoming address for the gathered circle of supporters, the MIWD’s own General Manager, Mr. Alfredo Tayo, III, CESE also gave a message of encouragement MIWD’ distribution partner. Moments later, a symbolic ceremony was held, a “Recommitment of Partnership” as it were.  MIWD Board Chairperson Ms. Rebecca Maravilla and Board Member Ms. Jeanette Lloyd joined GM Alfredo Tayo, COO David Berba and MPIW’s special guest, MPIC AVP for Corporate Planning and Communications Mr. Jonet Sanalila, front and center, as the group symbolically poured water collectively from their crystal glasses onto a larger crystal receptacle for all to see.

Invited representatives from the Managements of the following businesses and offices were on hand and given Certificates of Appreciation, who in one way or another, were partners in various advocacies in the past and present with MPIW: Coca-Cola, Saint Paul Hospital,  Avida Land and Development, Robinson’s Malls and its subsidiaries, Iloilo Doctor’s Hospital, Heva Management and Development Corporation, and Iloilo Provincial Hospital.
