MIWD and MIW Joins the Province and City of Iloilo in the fight against dengue
As the Province and City of Iloilo and the rest of the country reels from the nationwide dengue epidemic, many institutions have taken to stepping up for the dengue victims and the government institutions that are themselves on the brink of over exertion of its staff and resources in combating the dengue calamity.
The Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) and Metro Iloilo Water (MIW) in joint partnership have taken initiative and committed to donate 1,515 units of IV Fluids to the Iloilo Provincial Government, as well as 75 steel IV fluid stands to the City of Iloilo thru the Iloilo City Hydration Unit located within the Lapaz Maternity & Reproductive Health Center.
On hand to receive the initial delivery of 708 units of IV fluids at the Provincial Capitol was Governor Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. while the IV stands were received by the City Health Office represented by its dedicated team of medical workers along with Dr. Annabelle Tang on behalf of City Mayor Jerry Treñas. Management of the MIW and MIWD personally saw to the donation which included Engineer Eric Gita, Chief Operating Officer for MIW and Ms. Amarylis Josephine Castro, OIC General Manager for MIWD, as well as Engr. Arnold Laurente, MIW Operations Division Head and Mr. Jerry Guillergan, MIW Engineering Divisions Head.
