MIWD Joins MPIW for Mangrove Tree Planting for Water Awareness Month (MPIW CommuniTRee)

In continued celebration of the month-long Water Awareness Month this March, 2026 and the World Water Day 2026, MIWD joins in on the mangrove tree planting activity organized by the Metro Pacific Iloilo Water (MPIW). The tree planting activity was organized by MPIW’s TaTAP Ilonggo Program, and brought together several government agencies, schools, student groups, emergency responders, and barangay leaders in a shared effort to protect the city’s vital waterways. More than 200 participants joined the coastal initiative, highlighting a strong spirit of environmental stewardship and community partnership among the Ilonggo community.

The event was participated by different agencies and groups, which included MPIW and MIWD’s JV sister company, the Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corporation (MIB), representatives from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, the Philippine Red Cross, the Bureau of Fire Department, the Iloilo Girl Scout Council, the Philippine National Police, and a host of Japanese exchange students from NGO-LOOB, who all took the time to join in on the mangrove planting initiative.
