New MIWD General Manager Alfred L. Tayo Oathtaking

The Metro Iloilo Water District (MIWD) formally welcomes its new General Manager, Alfredo Tayo III, last April 8, 2024. The Oathtaking ceremony was attended by all the staff and management of MIWD, together with the Board of Directors and the Board Corporate Secretary. General Manager (GM) Alfredo Tayo, III was sworn in to office by none other than the Chairperson of the MIWD Board of Directors, Ms. Rebecca L. Maravilla. GM Tayo III will now take over the position from the OIC General Manager, Ms. Janalle Legayada-Manejero.

If the name Alfredo Tayo III rings a bell for many people, it is because he has held a long and distinguished career in Government Service, the Academe and the Military for a total of 36 years. GM Tayo also served the Landbank of the Philippines and its subsidiaries (Postal Savings Bank and the Overseas Filipino Bank), among others, as its Bank Executive Officer, Department Manager, Senior Manager, Asst. Vice President and Vice President; and was also a former State Internal Auditor V and Head of Internal Audit of the West Visayas State University (WVSU). He also has teaching stints (part-time) at the WVSU, Central Philippine University (CPU), UI Phinma, ABS-CBN Bayan Academy and the Ateneo Regis Program where he holds the academic ranks of Associate Professor C3, Associate Professorial Lecturer III, and Lecturer.

GM Tayo is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), with a Master’s Degree from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) and a Career Executive Service Eligible (CESE) of a Third Level Eligibility issued by the Career Executive Service Officer (CESO) Board. He also served as Technical Resource Speaker and Panelist of the Association Government Internal Auditors (AGIA) and with many other institutions related to benchmarking activities/seminars associated with the Risk-based Audit Rating System and, Strategic and Financial Management.

Indeed, MIWD is most fortunate to have someone as experienced and skilled as GM Tayo. Hence, MIWD and its staff, Management and its Board of Directors are in high spirits and eager to work with its new General Manager — onward into the future!
